Certified · Audited · Registered

Safety and compliance you can verify.

For the legal, compliance and safety teams evaluating an ACMI partner, the questions come first and the aircraft second. Marathon's credentials are public, current and independently verifiable, and our compliance file is ready for your safety team's review.

Credentials at a glance

The four things auditors ask for first.

IOSA registered

Registered under the IATA Operational Safety Audit — the global benchmark for airline operational safety. Our Certificate of Registration is valid until 23 January 2028.

EASA / HCAA AOC

A European Air Operator Certificate issued under EASA rules by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, with associated Operations Specifications.

Continuing airworthiness

A Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation keeps maintenance, records and reliability to one approved standard across the fleet.

Safety Management System

A functioning SMS with hazard reporting, risk assessment and a just-culture approach to continuous safety improvement.

IOSA registration

On the IATA IOSA registry.

Marathon is a registered IOSA operator. The Certificate of Registration is here, and our current status is listed on the official IATA IOSA Registry.

IATA IOSA Certificate of Registration issued to Marathon Airlines S.A., valid until 23 January 2028

Safety Management System (SMS)

Safety is managed, not assumed. Our SMS gives every part of the operation a single framework for identifying hazards, assessing risk and acting before issues reach the line:

  • Hazard & occurrence reporting — open, confidential reporting under a just-culture policy, so problems surface early.
  • Risk management — structured assessment and mitigation, with safety performance indicators monitored over time.
  • Safety assurance — internal audits, management review and continuous monitoring of the operation.
  • Safety promotion — recurrent training and a safety culture shared across flight, cabin, engineering and ground teams.

Continuing airworthiness & maintenance

A Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) manages the maintenance programme, reliability monitoring and airworthiness records for the whole Embraer fleet — so every tail is held to the same standard, and the records are complete and auditable.

Operational control

Flight operations run under our EASA/HCAA AOC with a dedicated Operations Control Centre, crews trained and checked to EASA requirements, and a 24/7 AOG & operations desk supporting live programmes.
